Acupuncture in Doylestown, PA
Acupuncture promotes balance by tapping and awakening the healing that already exists within us.
In my practice, a client's physical, mental, and emotional health are inseparable, and I believe collaboration with a client is essential in order for them to move along on their healing journey.
I approach treatment through a trauma-informed lens and offer a judgement-free space where safety is of utmost importance. I am open to treating individuals of any background. My clients have included: children, teenagers, adults, and senior citizens. I may not relate to your experiences, but I am willing to listen and hold space for you.
Your neck and shoulders are tight and tense as you sit in front of your work computer. As the workday progresses, you develop a headache from the upper body tension. After a few weeks, the tension radiates to your hips and lower back. The pain is elevated during stressful deadlines, stretching no longer helps, and you are in too much pain to exercise. Persistent pain consumes you and doctors cannot determine its cause, leaving you frustrated and defeated. They prescribe muscle relaxers, but you’d rather not take them.
As a LGBTQ+ and/or BIPOC individual, you’ve faced discrimination and violence. You feel a range of different emotions, like anger or fear, so you can’t help but avoid settings that could cause further traumatic experiences.
You faced abuse, neglect, and household challenges as a child. You’ve carried this unresolved trauma into adulthood. As you interact with others, you either panic or find it easier to disassociate to remove yourself from the present moment.
Loss. You are grieving over the recent loss of a loved one. Maybe the grief is about a divorce or the end of a relationship. The difficult and unexpected emotions arising from your loss causes an overwhelming amount of pain – emotionally, mentally, and physically. It makes it difficult to eat, concentrate, and disrupts your sleep.
You juggle multiple roles in your life as a: spouse/partner, parent, friend, employee, student, etc. Handling these various responsibilities and trying to meet expectations is leading to chronic stress and burn-out. It's difficult to describe, but things feel off - this isn’t the ordinary stress you’re accustomed to.
Your partner is experiencing a major health crisis and your new caregiver role is leaving you overwhelmed and consumed with stress.
You have to drag yourself out of bed in the morning and cannot focus at work or school. To function, you require numerous cups of coffee and cans of energy drinks throughout the day. You also lack motivation, often lash out at others, and have a hard time sleeping… it is a loop that repeats each day.
Maybe you and your partner have tried to conceive for over a year and the reproductive endocrinologist provided you both with a diagnosis of "unexplained fertility". The entire experience has left you feeling heartbroken and hopeless.
If you are pregnant, you are experiencing headaches and nausea. The recommendations from others are not helping and you are looking for a way to safely and naturally treat the pain and discomfort.
